Faithless: 'Forever...' - crap artwork!
Faithless: 'Forever Faithless'

Faithless: ‘Forever’ doesn’t subsist

Faithless mark their 10 year anniversary with a tour, a ‘Greatest Hits’ album/DVD 'Forever Faithless' and a brand new single ‘Why Go?’ feat Estelle. Faithless are the biggest, and most consistent, band in dance music. Throughout an extraordinary career they have sold over 10 million records worldwide (certifying platinum 10 times and gold 16). This in addition to becoming one of the most successful live dance acts of all time; headlining over 50 festivals worldwide and regularly playing to audiences of over 40,000 people.

‘Why Go?’ will promote the ‘Forever Faithless’ compilation and is the perfect showcase for the Faithless sound. The single is yet another style to add to the bands huge array of classic singles. An infectious dance groove featuring pulsating bass and drums alongside elements of flamenco guitar and the distinctive vocals of Maxi Jazz and guest vocalist, UK Hip-hop star, Estelle, displaying her less known soulful side. Equally impressively, we may add, to fashion - the perfect summer anthem.

[Estelle is the undisputed queen of UK Hip-hop. Her debut album ‘The 18th Day’ was released in 2004 to commercial and critical acclaim. Three times winner of the UK Hip-hop Awards, she also won the Best Newcomer Award at the 2004 Mobo’s.]

Faithless are: Sister Bliss (biggest female DJ in the world and multi-instrumentalist, a classically trained, fierce-pumping decknitian with spirited awareness of world music), Maxi Jazz (leading UK rapper, ex-pirate radio DJ, Buddhist and semi-professional racing car driver with a consuming love for Ford Escorts MK2 RS2000) and Rollo (a writer/producer/remixer who has an honours degree in philosophy, industry magnate, non-touring svengali).

‘Forever Faithless’ features the ‘Greatest Hits’ of their career, with tracks taken from all four previously released albums: ‘Reverence’, ‘Sunday 8pm’, ‘Outrospective’ and ‘No Roots’ and new material.

In the beginning: seventeen days was all it took. Seventeen days to make one of the most eclectic, spectacularly unusual and internationally successful albums of the decade. Fast forward ten years and what you have is a pioneering outfit that is still going strong and 'Forever Faithless' proves it, in case you had any doubt.

8/10
