New Order: fighting frivolity forever

Good citizens shop (a lot), watch TV even more and occasionally indulge in propagating the species. Good citizens play to win Lotto to be able to spend enormous sums and become more like the First-rate citizens - the ones who don’t have to max-out their credit cards. GC obey commercials. Good customers of the world are united in their debt.

Good citizens eat to obesity and then diet because they are told so by the whole industry of anorexic idealism. GC religiously attend Sunday masses at the cathedrals… of mega-shopping! GC pay dearly and moan in private. To complain about anything is anti-social. GC are united in their segregated communities. The long escape…

To diss is human. Nothing is good to an individual, the next person - in particular. Turning back fondly and fretting about the next bill. Looking after #1 and down the 6 billion others despite hijacked attention, mortgaged dreams and cancelled hopes. Art is something few toffs claim to mean something special. Around the (same) chords in 50 years. Enjoy pop music - buy earplugs!

One’s hero is another human’s zero. Fame is recognising qualities we’d like… until a spark - it’s only marketing! Or, knowing J-Lo but not being able to name a single hit. Beyoncé may be thinking God at every opportunity but attires as she’s to open a cabaret called ‘Tease-a-rama’. However well masked mediocrity will surface. Ministry of Insipidity.

Two treble-F theories, male and female, respectively: Fornication, Food, Footie vs. Family, Friends, Fashion. New Order have forever been against such banality of living, lo-fun for the Stepford denizens, keeping up quality some [such as Oasis, for instance] can only dream of.

‘Jetstream’ is easy-to-recognize New Order track that is re-enforced by the Scissor Sisters’ Ana Matronic [born Lynch], the procuress of illusions and fictitious sexuality. It vibrates your booty, it’s got a catchy hook and is easy to singalong. A prime example of an epic track-cum-jet-setting ditty that sounds like tailor-made to shake the charts.

New Order can’t disappoint because they know how to make ‘em extra-good! And, ‘Jetstream’, extracted from the rest of the album - sounds even better!

8/10
