Franz Ferdinand: [any] colour of a title |
|
Blitzkrieg 'King'
Michael Jackson, T.Raumschmiere, Franz Ferdinand
MJ: cashin-in on notoriety, now?
Sony-BMG will release the 2CD Michael Jackson compilation, 'The Essential Michael Jackson' on 15 July.
The disc will date back to the early 70s with material with his first solo material including 'Rockin' Robin', 'Ben' and 'I Want You Back' as well as early Jackson 5 numbers 'ABC' and 'The Love You Save'.
The album also features the track 'In The Closet', credited to Michael Jackson and Mystery Girl. Mystery Girl was Princess Stephanie of Monaco who recorded the song with Jackson after initial participant Madonna withdrew from the recording.
Other duets include 'The Girl Is Mine' with Paul McCartney and 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You' with Seidah Garrett.
The album doesn't contain any new or previously unreleased material and goes right up to Jackson's last studio album 'Invincible.

T.Raumschmiere: 'Blitzkrieg Pop'
Berlin's T.Raumschmiere (aka Shitkatapult label boss Marco Haas) releases a brand new single on 29 August. 'Blitzkrieg Pop' is the title track from T.Raumschmiere's brand new album released on 12 September 2005.
The new album sees Marco on vocals for the first time (on singles 'Blitzkrieg Pop' and 'Sick Like Me') and reveals two different sides of T.Raumschmiere: high octane energy tracks perfect for rockin out to and more ambient sounds for the ear and heart.
The new single is available on CD, 7" and 12" and includes remixes from Phil Kieran and Brinkmann/Beridze plus Diving In Whiskey with Ellen Allien (BPitchcontrol label boss, recording artist and DJ).
T.Raumschmiere and live band premiered their show in the UK with a live date at Fabric and a headline at the Garage in May and are back to ROCK the capital city on 16th July for Kill All Hippies at the Scala. Further dates will be announced.

Franz F.: no titles but colour-coded covers
The new Franz Ferdinand album will not have a title and will only be recognisable by the sleeve's artwork, the band have revealed. The Scottish art-rockers, who were elevated to global superstars off the back of their self-titled debut last year, are currently recording the follow-up, which is due in September.
Singer Alex Kapranos has now announced that the group never intended to give their records titles. Instead, each one will be known by the variation of cover designs.
Kapronas explained that the new album, rather than coming in dark brown, orange and cream colours, will this time around be black, red and pale green.
"The whole point is that the album doesn't have a title," the singer told the NME, as the band nail-down the tracklisting from a possible 16 songs.
"We decided quite a while ago that we didn't want to give any of the albums titles, they were just going to be called 'Franz Ferdinand'."
He added: "The albums are going to be identified by their colour schemes rather than a title. The contrast of different colours creates a different mood."
"We experimented with different combinations of colours and this one stuck. At one level they looked good together, and they capture the mood of this record quite well."
